Three Good Things August 2015 Week 4 (and a bit)

It's the final week (and a bit) of August! Oh yeah, nearly caught up on the blog posts!

I was waiting for this week so much. My holiday week. I had such a good time even though it took me about 5 days to stop feeling so shattered... So let's get into it!

  3. DONUTS!

Monday 24th August

  1. Day out to Bridlington.
  2. Doing two pub visits.
  3. Taking some time out from everything to make myself feel better (I was a bit poorly that day).

Friday 28th August

  1. Coming home to my good mattress.
  2. Swapping my old mattress for my sisters as she thought my old one was comfy! (I just wanted thememory foam for my back, my old one wasn't past it really).
  3. Having some tasty veggie soup.

Saturday 29th August

  1. Putting some stuff in the charity bag, slowing but surely filling this up.
  2. Hanging out with The Boy.
  3. Pizza!!!

  3. Doing my snowman tea cosy.

  2. Going to see Inside Out.
  3. Finishing Snowman Teacosy!

So that was August. Sorry it has taken me until mid September nearly to get it up but hey, life gets in the way sometimes!

I really recommend doing this to anyone! If I hadn't done this, my general feelings about August wouldn't be been that it was a bit pants but actually it was pretty good! It's all about the little things.

Roll on September!

Three Good Things August 2015 Week 3

The romp through August continues! I much prefer actually doing these weekly rather than typing them all up at once! Next month, mustn't have a broken iPad! Haha.
This was a tough week for me. I had awful back ache, it was the week before my holiday (I was shattered by this point, I really needed this wee, off about two weeks sooner) and work was pretty chaotic and pressured. But I still got my three things, even if some of them are a bit like clutching at straws!

Saturday 15th August
  1. Going on a mattress hunt and learning all about the different types of mattresses. Side sleepers should not get a firm mattress. You need a medium one apparently for the best support.
  2. I got a pointless answer while watching the quiz! Chad. I thought people would've learned about Chad by now on that show.
  3. Getting a good night's sleep. I'm pretty sure this was in last weeks list but I really haven't been sleeping well.

Sunday 16th August
  1. Much less back ache. Still pretty bad but I could move far more than yesterday!
  2. Bought a new mattress! Yay! Memory foam is soooo comfy.
  3. Singing along in the car. Everyone likes a good sing-a-long, it makes you feel so much better,

Monday 17th August
  1. Checking off all my top priority items on my to do list.
  2. Delicious biscuits from my friend. Click here for her blog post about them!
  3. Jelly! Again! I do love jelly.

Tuesday 18th August
  1. Making a start on my holiday packing. Not a big start but I decided on the clothes to take and piled them up neatly, ready to pack away.
  2. Being given a voucher for a free burrito! Such an exciting moment while covering reception at work.
  3. Getting a much quieter train home after staying late at work. I actually got a seat! Plus, staying late meant that we got to help someone out that really appreciate it.

Wednesday 19th August
  1. FREE BURRITO! Please see yesterday's list re the voucher. It was sooo good. Mum. Burrito.
  2. Getting my new bike! Bring on the fitness.
  3. Going for a mini bike ride in the rain with the boy.

Thursday 20th August
  1. Having a really tasty pasta salad for lunch. It had a good mix of different bits and bob
  2. Getting through my annual appraisal at work with a good result.
  3. Fixing my iPod. (Yes, my iPod was broken while my iPad was too!)

Friday 21st August
  1. Treating myself to a Primos hotdog for lunch for getting to the end of this mega week.
  2. Finishing my pre-holiday work to do list.
  3. Going on holiday!!! I got myself settled on the train and enjoyed the transition from work to break. Lovely.

So, not the most exciting week. I had quite a lot of back ache and found it quite stressful trying to wrap everything up at work ready for my holiday. But it is this sort of week that is good for doing this three things expertise with. It makes you realise that things aren't that bad really.

Just one week and a bit to go of August. Holiday week. It should be good.

See you there.

Three Good Things August 2015 Week 2

It's catch up time! Let's look back on the second week in August and see what good memories I can draw up from the memory banks!

Saturday 8th August

  1. Raspberry picking to make a batch of ice cream! Tasty.
  2. Dusting. While wearing an actual dust mask. I know this is a boring one but I sneeze an awful lot while dusting but I actual got to have a big sort out without msking myself poorly on this day!
  3. Having a go at driving my dad's car. I can drive. I've passed my test but I haven't driven since! And my dad has a big car and I learnt in a smaller one. It was a bit nerve wracking at first but it was actually really good to see how normal it felt it drive even after the big break! (I hasten to add this was just in a car park. Not on the roads just yet. Haha).

Sunday 9th August

  1. Making jam! Mmm.... More jam!
  2. Getting 5 books for £1 at the charity shop!
  3. Going for a little walk where we got to learn all about locks on canals, had a nice chat with a man picking blackberries AND found a free pallet for a project!

Monday 10th August

  1. Planning a handmade card for a work friend's leaving. Buying the supplies was really fun.
  2. Collecting a comic book for a friend. Always nice to do a good deed!
  3. Very good night's sleep. Simple.

Tuesday 11th August

  1. Good news from my friend Marie - she got a new job! Congratulations!
  2. Mini Lush haul... Mm bubble bars!
  3. Jelly!! Who doesn't love a tasty jelly for pudding at the end of a long day?

Wednesday 12th August

  1. Day trip to York with my mum and sister.
  2. Getting a discounted lunch by using my new voucher app. I LOVE a voucher so having them in my phone is brilliant!
  3. It was so, so sunny. Such a brilliant day you have off. Thank you weather.

Thursday 13th August

  1. The Boy's birthday. Old man now.
  2. Birthday tea out at pagoda with his family. I haven't done many events with his family yet so I'm glad this went well.
  3. Ordered some sandals I've been eyeing up all summer that have finally gone into the sale!

Friday 14th August

  1. My Bat cake turned out a success! Na na na na na na na na BAT CAKE!
  2. Having a really fun time at Woolcifer's leaving do.
  3. Sneaky drink out with the boy before home time.

That to me seems like a pretty good second week of August. I really enjoyed looking back over it, it's made me feel quite warm inside.

I'm going to try and get my other weekly reviews up ASAP to catch up.

See you soon.

Saturday 5 September 2015

Hello!

Hello everyone!

I've missed you. Sorry I've been away but my dear iPad Gerald hasn't been feeling well. He has been out of action for the last three weeks which has meant that I've had no access to my blog. I could've attempted to do it on my phone but I would've found that really tough and I didn't want to do a sloppy job.

Sadly, Gerald has gone off to be an Eco-warrior (he is being recycled shhh) but Gerald Junior is here to take over and I am very happy with his cooperative performance so far.

I have plenty of things to be getting on with on here. Starting with updating my 3 Good Things review from August and my September Goals along with starting #midweekmunchies back up! I'm really looking forward to it, I hope you are too.

Stay tuned for new posts very soon!

Love Charlotte xx
